Education

I hold a B.A. in History from Indiana University. I have a M.A. in American History from Providence College, located in Providence, RI. I completed my master's studies in the spring of 2007.

Experience

During my graduate studies in History, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do some part-time tutoring for undergraduate sudents enrolled in history courses. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment I was able to spend tutoring these undergraduate students. I went on to graduate with honors from my master's degree program at Providence College in 2007. Following graduation, I was inducted into Phi Alpha Theta- National History Honor Society. I minored in Spanish while at Indiana University and spent the fall semester of my senior year studying abroad in Seville, Spain. From the fall of 2007 to the fall of 2009, I volunteered as a docent giving public tours at the Oriental Institute Museum at the University of Chicago. While my primary interest lies in American history, I have also taken courses in medieval and contemporary European history. In addition, I have had the good fortune to travel widely abroad over the past decade. I have visited historical sites in Greece, Turkey, Portugal, and Spain. Seeing historical buildings and sites in person gives one a wholly different perspective and fresh approach to the discipline which cannot be attained by simply reading from a textbook.
